I look forward to classes and when I have to travel and skip a few, I can feel it and miss
them.  After a good work-out with Lana I feel set up and energized for the day.  Good-bye
to the sluggish morning start.  Lana keeps the routine interesting - no two classes are
alike.  There is no such thing as a plateau.  Every time I begin to feel mastery or the
exercise starts to feel "easy" (read: do-able) BOOM: a new, slightly more challenging move
is introduced.  Lana is very careful about form and prevention of injury and suggests
exercise modifications if I happen to have a physical problem.  The time goes by quickly,
you work out with nice folks, and man, the feeling of "virtue" when you are pulling on your
coat at the end is worth much more than the weights you've been lifting.  Great class, and
kudos to Lana, who is always professional, cheerful and encouraging.

No mollycoddling in this class, Lana will show no pity with your
moaning and groaning. She is relentless in her expectations. But
getting my bone density up from subnormal  to normal might be
worth the torment of two hours a week.   It is all about self-
    discipline, my friends,

After two less than professional instructors, it was a lucky day for
us when Lana appeared over seven years ago to take on the
strength training classes. From the start, she was clearly
knowledgeable and competent, but also understanding and
sensitive to our individual quirks. I think we are all committed to
these classes and that credit goes to Lana. She frequently has
something interesting (read: challenging) variation that keeps us
engaged and never bored. These classes are such good thing we
are doing for ourselves, and despite our occasional groans, we're
    having fun in the process.
    Hooray for Lana!

I am a Lincoln mother of two children and I have been
training with Lana for 5 years. When I first began training I
was experiencing lower back pain, the result of a worn disk in
the L4 - L5 region. Gradually my back healed and my overall
    fitness improved.
I have been a runner for 15 years and have noticed a great
improvement in my leg strength and ability to climb hills.
In December 2005 I ran a marathon which had a long mile
hill at 4 to 5 percent incline. Thanks to Lana's squats and
lunges I was able to run with no problems and trained injury
    free.
I should also mention that my husband who is a bike racer
and a tri-athlete has enjoyed Lana's evening classes.

After attending Lana’s class two times a week for about nine months, I
have such an appreciation for her excellent teaching and supportive
style.  I was no stranger to exercise when I started the class, but I have
never been in better shape.  Many of the exercises combine multiple
muscle groups, making each repetition useful for many parts of the body.
Her experienced eye has corrected many of my bad habits, making each
movement more effective, and it shows.  Her expertise is evident when
she advises students in alternative moves to avoid aggravating existing
injuries, while enabling them to receive the same benefits.

Most of all, I must admit that working out in a group, with her at the helm, is a very pleasant experience.  Her smile
is so encouraging that I tend to push myself a little harder.  Her energy and enthusiasm create a very motivating
environment, and I believe that it is the combination of expertise and supportive encouragement that have moved
me into a new state of physical well being.  Thank you, Lana, for helping me to achieve my fitness goals!
